Preserving Our County History-Remember History Matters!
Norman County Historical Society
Welcome!
Summer Is Over But We Are Still Hard At Work!
What a summer we’ve had! Activities during the County Fair drew record numbers of visitors to Prairie Village. Events such as Coffee and Conversation and our new Try It Tuesdays attracted new people, in addition to our wonderful regular attendees, to come and see what we are about. Pioneer Days broke attendance records for the second year in a row. People sure love our ethnic foods!
Our next event will be the Festival of Trees the first two weekends in December. This year we will have more music and of course beautifully decorated trees. Last year’s Party on the Prairie gala, the Friday night prior to the first-weekend opening, was such a success that we plan to have it become an annual event. Make sure you get your tickets early as we nearly sold out last year.
We are officially closed for the season but typically someone is working Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday most weeks. If you see a car in the parking lot, stop in. You can also call for an appointment.
We follow recommended COVID-19 guidelines for museums. If you are fully vaccinated you are not required to wear a mask but please maintain social distancing when possible. If you have not completed your vaccination schedule or are not vaccinated consider wearing a mask and social distancing.
